I am a Database Specialist, Full-Stack Developer, and Data Analyst passionate about building smart, data-driven solutions that solve real-world problems.
My journey in tech began with a love for structure and impact, leading me into SQL Server, Web Development, and Data Analysis. I am now expanding into Python, AI, and Machine Learning.
I am Grace Ihuoma Nwakama, a Database Specialist, Full-Stack Developer, and Data Analyst based in Lagos, Nigeria. My journey into tech began in 2024 when I decided to pursue a path that could provide not just financial freedom, but also personal fulfillment and continuous growth.
I started with Database Management with SQL Server and it instantly felt like home. Since then I have expanded into Excel, Power BI, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, R, and GitHub, combining technical skill with creativity to build meaningful solutions.
I studied Economics at Universite Polytechnique du Benin, which gave me a strong analytical foundation. Now I am deepening my Python and web application skills through Aptech, and actively learning about AI and Machine Learning through both Anthropic and Aptech.
What I love most about tech is that it challenges you to learn more, do more, and earn more. Every project brings me closer to the life I envision: one of purpose, creativity, and impact.
Here is a glimpse of the technologies I work with and what I am passionate about building.
Every project here is something I built from scratch, for a real purpose. Click any card to see the code.
A full hospital operations database with Patients, Doctors, and Appointments tables. Seven stored procedures handle every key workflow: adding patients, booking and cancelling appointments, retrieving patient history, checking doctor schedules, and pulling upcoming appointments. Includes sample data and test scripts so anyone can clone and run it immediately.
A fully normalised bookstore database covering books, genres, authors, stock, and sales. Stored procedures handle all CRUD operations, views simplify reporting, and triggers enforce business rules automatically.
Two linked projects: an inventory system with automated low-stock alerts, and an e-commerce database with products, customers, and orders. Together they show how I think about data across a whole business.
A student management database for enrollment, courses, grades, and academic history, with foreign key constraints throughout. Includes queries to generate performance reports a school administrator would genuinely need.
I used the World Values Survey, a large-scale global dataset, to explore how religion and age relate to reported happiness across different countries. I cleaned and wrangled the CSV data, ran statistical analysis in R, and wrote a full report. Deployed live on Vercel.
A web platform connecting skilled artisans (carpenters, plumbers, electricians) with clients who need their services. Built and styled the entire front-end from scratch. Deployed live on Vercel.
A realistic Bank of Queensland Visa debit card interface with PIN entry, auto-advance inputs, validation logic, and an activation success message. Shows I can replicate real-world UI patterns accurately.
A black-themed interactive gallery with hover effects, next and previous navigation, and optimised compressed images for fast load times. Built for a photographer client.
Four iterations of my own portfolio site, each one intentionally better than the last. The latest version is live at techbygrace.com on both GitHub Pages and Vercel.
The academic foundation that shaped how I think and learn.
How I got here and what I have been building along the way.
Built 5 production-grade SQL Server databases covering healthcare, retail, education, e-commerce, and inventory management. Designed and deployed multiple web projects including the ARTISANS platform, Photography portfolio, and Visa Card UI.
Every certificate here represents real hours of learning and examination, not just passive watching.
I am actively looking for remote, hybrid and full-time roles across Data Engineering, Database Specialization, Front-End Development, and Back-End Development.
